INFANT DEVELOPMENTAL
MOVEMENT EDUCATION
Application Program
294 hours of class spread on two years.
The IDME Program is especially suited for people who already work with babies or infants and are interested to explore developmental movement. We also welcome people who wish to include infants in their work and participants who are interested in movement organization and development such as dancers or bodyworkers.
Besides the four basic developmental courses that are also part of the Somatic Movement Education program, students will take two additional courses focusing on applications of these prinicples with infants.
This program is a highly sophisticated and subtle approach to the observation and facilitation of normal movement patterns in infants. It trains people to recognize early movement patterns and to interact effectively with infants in ways that will have a positive effect on their growth and development. The goal in movement education with infants is to help set a foundation that supports pathways of ease, strength, agility and adaptability and to help avoid restrictive patterns of movement that inhibit the development of the full potential of the child.
This program is designed to train people to evaluate and facilitate normal development in infants.
Students will learn to:

Observe how normal movement develops in infancy

Identify and analyze normal movement patterns

Facilitate basic perception in relation to movement

Facilitate normal movement development in a child

Educate parents about ways to facilitate normal movement development in their child

Identify and analyze basic movement difficulties and to facilitate normal movement development

Recognize problems in infants at risk for developing physical problems, learning disabilities, and emotional limitations

Recognize indications for referral to an appropriate therapist

To graduate from the IDME program, students have to fulfill the following requirements:
Sessions de formation

Suivre les quatre modules fondamentaux sur le développement du mouvement, noyau central de la formation, au cours desquels les participants vivent par eux-mêmes les schèmes fondamentaux du développement : Sens et Perceptions 1 ; Schèmes Neurocellulaires Fondamentaux ; Réflexes, Réactions de Redressement et Réponses d’Equilibration ; Développement Ontogénétique.

Suivre les modules d'application : Développement du nourrisson 1 et 2
Travail personnel

Effectuer une séance de tutorat pour chacun des quatre modules fondamentaux

Effectuer des séances d'observation

Effectuer des séances de jeu et d'interaction

Travail écrit : rédaction de compte-rendus et d'une brochure

Réaliser une vidéo de jeu avec un enfant
Un descriptif complet de ces modalités sera remis aux étudiants en début de formation
Affiliations professionnelles
En tant que stagiaire et/ou personne certifiée des formations de SOMA, vous pouvez adhérer à la Body-Mind Centering® Association (BMCA; bmcassociation.org) qui vous apporte un soutien professionnel.
Une fois la formation terminée, seuls les Educateurs Somatiques par le Mouvement et les Praticiens qui adhèrent à BMCA en tant que Membres professionnels reçoivent l’autorisation d’utiliser le nom déposé de Body-Mind Centering® pour l´exercice de leur activité professionnelle.
Les formations en Body-Mind Centering® sont aussi reconnues par l’International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association, ou « Association Internationale d'Education et de Thérapie Somatique par le Mouvement » (ISMETA) www.ismeta.org
